About Southampton

Choosing a doula local to Southampton comes with links to a large network of helpful birth workers, feeding experts, complimentary therapists and practitioners, as well as recommended groups and classes for parents and their babies. Whether you need an osteopath for yourself or your baby, a bit of support with breastfeeding, a baby-wearing consultation or a tongue-tie assessment, I can help signpost you to the most highly recommended services across Southampton, Eastleigh, Bursledon, Netley, Swanwick and beyond.

Princess Anne Hospital

Princess Anne Hospital is linked to Southampton General Hospital, though it sits in a separate building just across the road from the main hospital.

It has both a labour ward and an MLU (midwife led unit) or Birth Centre. The Birth Centre is called Broadlands and is in the same building as the labour ward.

Parking at Princess Anne can be tricky, but there is a drop-off bay outside the entrance so that you can get settled inside before finding long-term parking.

Parking must be paid as you leave, so keep your ticket handy and use the machine by the door as you exit.

There are two small cafes offering hot drinks and pastries, but more substantial options can be found across the road in the main Southampton General Hospital, offering a large M&S food shop, M&S cafe, Subway and a Costa Coffee.
