The Birth Bliss Academy was started in 2012 by Kicki Hansard and aims to empower aspiring doulas to harness and utilise the skills, qualities and passion that they already possess, creating a network of authentic and individual doulas who are confident and fully supported in their work.​​

Having completed the full preparatory course, I chose to elevate my learning by taking part in the Doula Accreditation programme. This involved a year of debriefs with a mentor after each birth I attended, using detailed feedback provided by each family I worked with. It taught me that every unique birth experience and relationship formed is an opportunity for my clients and I to grow and learn together, making me a better doula with each birth I attend. I am now fully accredited and continue to use the skills I have acquired to improve my offering, remaining curious and open to everything that the birth world has to offer.
