Question 1

Jimmy | Postnatal client | Worthing

Accepted Answer

Sam is amazing! She was more than just an extra pair hands. Sam really became a part of the family while she was with us and helped us from not losing our minds!

Question 2

Charlotte | Birth client | Chichester

Accepted Answer

I cannot recommend my doula, Sam, highly enough. I laboured for four days, and she supported me mentally and physically, day and night, with unwavering dedication. She not only cared for me but also made sure my partner was able to take breaks and stay fuelled, reminding us both how essential he would be in the hours and days after birth.

Throughout my entire labour, as my decisions changed and evolved, Sam supported me without judgement. My goal was to have a VBAC after a c-section two years ago, and with Sam’s calm guidance, reassurance, and advocacy, I achieved it. I truly believe that given how my labour unfolded, without Sam by my side I may have ended up in surgery again.

Having a toddler at home, avoiding another surgery was incredibly important to me and Sam understood that completely. She was calm, committed, rational, and so deeply dedicated to my wellbeing. I felt safe, informed, and truly supported every step of the way.

Sam is an exceptional doula, and I am endlessly grateful for the role she played in bringing my baby into the world.

Question 3

Cheryl | Birth & Hypno Client | Portsmouth

Accepted Answer

We had such a positive birth experience & I fully credit that to Sam. We got in contact with her as the birth of our first daughter hadn’t gone how we wanted.

The work we did with Sam antenatally & having her present at the birth meant it was so different this time.

Sam helped both practically; assisting me into the optimum positions to give birth & coaching me through pushing but also emotionally by being a calming presence & the cheerleader that she knew I needed.

Our work with Sam also allowed us to feel really confident in the birth choices we were making.

My husband & I can’t rave about Sam enough & would 100% recommend her to others.

Question 4

Sean | Home Birth client | Portsmouth

Accepted Answer

We were sure that having a doula would help to make our birth experience what we wanted it to be, but I don't think we imagined how much of an impact Sam would have. We couldn't speak highly enough of her.

Speaking to our midwifes afterwards, they said that Sam had restored their faith in Doulas!

Question 5

Will & Amber | Hypno & Birth client | Winchester

Accepted Answer

We hired Sam as our doula and hypnobirthing coach, and we truly cannot recommend her highly enough. From the very beginning, she brought such warmth, kindness, and reassurance to our journey into parenthood, and we are so grateful we had her by our side.

Initially, my partner was a little sceptical about both hypnobirthing and having a doula, but Sam took the time to really listen to us, understand what we both wanted, and tailor her support to suit us as individuals and as a team. By the end of our experience, we both felt that Sam’s guidance and presence throughout pregnancy and birth were absolutely invaluable.

Every hypnobirthing session was informative, empowering, and practical. Sam helped us build confidence and learn techniques that became instrumental during what turned out to be a long labour. She was patient, compassionate, and supportive, and it genuinely felt like she became part of our team. Sam had empathy throughout, particularly as I was really scared of labour at first, and following a miscarriage earlier in the year. But she helped us overcome those worries, with guidance and evidence based reasoning which helped us enter the labour in a prepared and calm mindset.

As our due date approached, she consistently went above and beyond — spending extra time answering questions, calming worries, and helping us feel prepared and supported.

When I went into labour on Sunday evening, we were planning for a home birth. Sam came over in the early hours when things began to intensify and immediately brought a sense of calm to the environment. She supported us beautifully, worked seamlessly with the midwife team (who all spoke so highly of her afterwards), and allowed my husband to remain fully present by my side throughout. After many hours, as labour stalled, Sam stayed with us, offering unwavering encouragement and care far beyond what we ever expected.

Eventually, after further advice from the midwives, we transferred to the birth centre. Labour continued slowly throughout Monday until things progressed again late that night. As soon as we called Sam again at 11pm, she came straight to the birth centre and stayed with us until a couple of hours after the birth of our baby girl on Tuesday afternoon when some minor medical activities were needed. Sam was with us, either in person or available via WhatsApp for the duration of the labour which was over 50 hours!

Her support throughout the entire experience was incredible. From her calm guidance and reassurance, to advocating for us and helping us navigate decisions and communicate with the midwives, Sam made such a positive difference to our birth experience. During the birth centre advanced labour, she helped with changing my positions, breathing techniques, taking the lead so my husband could get some rest.

Thanks in no small part to her support and the hypnobirthing techniques she taught us, I was able to achieve the water birth I had hoped for and feel positive and empowered despite the long labour journey.

We will always be incredibly grateful for Sam’s care, dedication, and kindness. The support she gave us before, during, and after birth — including the post-birth debriefs — was thoughtful, informative, and reassuring. She helped us feel seen, heard, and supported every step of the way.

A final testament to Sam, is that we are sure that after such a long early labour, if we did not have Sam and her support then we would have likely headed towards an unplanned C-Section. But her guidance enabled us to have the waterbirth that I had really wanted and Sam played a key role in supporting us to navigate the NHS and have a positive birth experience.

We wholeheartedly recommend Sam and her doula and hypnobirthing services to any expecting parents. She is truly exceptional at what she does. Thank you, Sam.

Question 6

Coral | Postnatal client | Chichester

Accepted Answer

Sam was my post-natal doula, and having her around was the first time in years that I have felt looked after. She made sure I rested, ate healthy food, had someone to discuss the birth, etc. with, and would look after my baby to give me a bit of a break.

What I also appreciated was the WhatsApp support. I messaged her about various things and she always responded quickly. She also had some great recommendations when I was looking for some breastfeeding help - people it would have taken me ages to find, or not found at all.

If you are looking for support after having a baby, I can’t recommend Sam highly enough.

Question 7

Kate | Birth client | Chichester

Her presence during the birth felt vital, and her follow up care was exactly what I needed. We couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Question 8

Léa | Postnatal client | Chichester

Accepted Answer

Sam was very gentle and caring. She arrived less than a week after our daughter was born and was meant to stay for 6 weeks but we asked if she would stay a little further as she made our lives so much better.

She took away so much mental space which gave me the time to really enjoy this (my last of three) postpartum and really anchor down with my baby.

Sam was always ready to listen and make suggestions. After having 2 birth without the afterwards support, this was a completely different experience.

I would recommend Sam to anyone who’s in need of a mother/sister/long lost family friend feeling!!

Question 9

Bronwen | Birth client | Southampton

Accepted Answer

We were lucky enough to have Sam as our doula for our first pregnancy and birth. Before, during and after the birth Sam gave fantastic support (practical and emotional) and ultimately made us both a lot more confident and less nervous going into the birth.

Sam gave great antenatal sessions in which she answered all our questions about what to expect, and with that she helped us come up with a birth preference plan we felt really positively and prepared for.

During the birth, Sam continued to provide us with great, informative support as the birth played out and different decisions had to be made. As such, we feel really positively about the whole birth experience.

Following the birth, Sam was wonderful, spending time to meal prep, help with a bit of housework, and provide moral support to myself. I can't thank her enough.

We wouldn't hesitate to have Sam be included as a birth partner for future births.

Question 13

Gemma | Birth Client | Worthing

Accepted Answer

When I found out I was pregnant, one of my concerns was not knowing who would be there when I gave birth as I knew I wouldn’t necessarily have the same midwife I'd seen throughout my pregnancy. Having Sam there was therefore a huge comfort. Just seeing a familiar face during labour, knowing she was there purely for me and to support me, was incredibly reassuring. It was also so comforting knowing we could call Sam whenever we felt overwhelmed or needed someone knowledgeable to talk through our decisions with us in the lead up to the birth. She gave us reassurance without ever making us feel pressured or judged, and helped us feel confident in our choices. I think the labour could have gone very differently if we hadn't had Sam there to talk to.Sam was a huge part of why my birth went so smoothly and why I genuinely loved my birth experience. Both my husband and I felt incredibly looked after, supported and cared for by her. We couldn’t recommend her enough!
